Franciscan Hospital for Children – Friends Ball

The Campaign:

CMTV worked closely with the development department of the Franciscan Hospital of Children in Boston, to coordinate, cultivate and successfully execute several fundraising campaigns throughout the year, including the Friends Ball – a unique event, which emphasizes awareness of the hospital and has the goal of cultivating new friends.

Our involvement included:

  • Developing the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame theme for the event
  • Coordinating all logistics from the invitation and save the date design consultation to onsite management and troubleshooting.
  • Management of the event auction starting with letters of solicitation to follow up calls on behalf of the hospital and committee.
  • Arranging entertainment at the event including a trio of Berkeley School musicians, a henna tattoo artist, a signature cocktail and a photo booth.
  • Coordinating with special donors such as Aerosmith, the Boston Bruins and AKA Bistro.
  • Creating the program book, which showcases the donations, sponsors and advertising.

 

Results:

  • We secured more than 75 silent auction packages and 4 exiting live items for the auction, raising more than $25,000 from the auction.
  • The event raised more than $200,000.
  • The 2012 event had the largest attendance to date with more than 500 friends, new and old
  • We attracted several tables of young adults for the first time, establishing a base of interest among a new generation.
